Start work and answer your agent

A Push Session keeps a request, its conversation and its results together. Use its thread to follow and steer the work from the Mac, Slack, browser or iPhone.

Before you start

Choose the right workspace and project folder. Starting work requires run access to that folder and an available coding agent on the host Mac. If you already have the conversation, track it instead of creating another task.

Capture and start work

Use ⌘N on the Mac to compose new work, or capture it from the phone, browser extension, browser workspace or Slack.

Include the outcome, relevant files and constraints. For example:

Create a Todo for reviewing the launch checklist in this project's folder. Keep it for later; do not start it yet.

A Todo captures the request. To execute it, choose its assigned agent and Run. A Slack request may explicitly ask for immediate work; follow that channel's walkthrough.

See the result

The board shows Todo · Active · Completed. Open the work to read its thread, recordings and files. Use its terminal control to follow the conversation. A pending start is still pending; the button's explanation tells you whether capacity, access or the host prevents progress.

A finished agent turn is not necessarily a finished task. Review the delivered result before treating the work as complete.

Comments reach the session

Use the work's thread to add context or instructions, including from another device. For an active agent, your authorized instruction can reach its conversation. A context-only comment remains context and does not grant permission to act.

For this work, use the revised checklist I attached. Explain any change to the plan before continuing.

Needs you

A plain question belongs in the conversation or thread. A tool permission prompt needs the supplied approval controls. Read the action and target, then approve or deny it yourself.

On the Mac, open the terminal or notification. On iPhone, the request can offer Approve, Deny, Deny & Reply and Not now. Supported Slack approval prompts arrive privately to the requester. Availability depends on the coding runtime and access; never type "approved" into an unrelated thread expecting it to answer a tool prompt.

Linear and GitHub

You can link a Linear ticket to the work and ask the agent to read or update it within your access. Your agent uses its own GitHub tools; Push can show the pull request it reports. A displayed link is something to review, not proof that checks passed.

If something stops

Read the Run button's disabled or pending reason. Resolve the named folder access, runtime sign-in or host availability problem. If a permission request is no longer available, return to the terminal and inspect its current state before retrying.
