Quickstart
Install Push, run your first agent, quit, come back — and see why the session is still there. Ten minutes.
You need: an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) on macOS 15 or later, and at least one code agent CLI installed — Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or Hermes. Push itself is a free download and needs no account.
1. Install
- Download the DMG and drag Push.app into
/Applications. - Open it. Gatekeeper passes — the app is signed and notarized.
2. First launch
Push checks your Mac for code agents ("Let's check your code agents") and shows what it found. If you have more than one, pick a default; if it spots folders you work in, it offers to add them. Skip setup works too — nothing here is irreversible.
Just installed an agent CLI and it isn't listed? Settings → Terminal → Re-probe runtimes.
3. Your first session
Open a tab (⌘T), cd into a project, and run claude (or codex,
opencode, hermes). It's your install and your login — Push wraps the
agent in a managed tab; it doesn't sit between you and your provider.
Work with the agent like you always do. Notice the tab titles itself after what you're doing.
4. The point of Push
Quit the app. ⌘Q, fully.
Reopen it. Your tab is back, and so is the conversation — same session, resumed with the agent's own resume mechanism, right where you left off. That works across relaunches, updates, and reboots, for all four agents.
5. Track your first issue
When a session turns into real work, give it a name on the board: type
push track inside the pane, or right-click the tab → Track This Tab.
The session is now an issue — findable, resumable from the Issues list, and
visible from your phone. The full loop is in

6. Optional: add your iPhone
The iPhone app (TestFlight beta today) captures issues by voice and watches your agents from anywhere. Sign in on the Mac (Settings → Account) and on the phone with the same provider, and they pair through your account.
