Meeting recording (Beta)
Record a call on the Mac — both sides of the audio — and get a transcript on an issue timeline. Off by default.
Beta. Meeting recording ships behind Settings → Beta features → Meeting recording, off by default. As the pane itself says: beta features "may misbehave, change, or be removed in a future update."
Turning it on
Flip the Beta switch and two things appear: a Meeting pane in Settings and a menu-bar icon — Push's only menu-bar presence, and it exists solely for recording control.
Recording
From the menu bar: Record Meeting starts one; when Push notices a meeting app using your microphone it offers "Meeting Detected — Record It." While recording, the icon pulses and the menu carries Recording Meeting… / Recording Paused / Stop Recording / Keep Recording / Discard Recording…, with a matching capsule in the sidebar. When your meeting app goes quiet, "Meeting Ended?" asks instead of guessing.
Capture options in Settings → Meeting:
- Suggest recording when a meeting starts / End recording when the meeting ends — the detection conveniences.
- Capture system audio (what you hear) — records the other participants, not just your mic. Requires the system-audio permission, asked once.
- Software echo cancellation — keeps the far side from doubling through your speakers.
Speech activity is detected on-device; a transcript segment where only the far side spoke is labeled honestly: "Other side only — your mic was silent."
Transcription needs your key
Transcription runs on your own OpenRouter key — paste it in Settings → Meeting → Transcription (Save Key / Configured ✓ / Remove Key). Push doesn't route meeting audio through a service of its own: no key, no transcription — the recording is still saved, and you can add a key later.
Where recordings live
A finished recording lands on an issue timeline with playable audio, its transcript, and speaker turns — so the meeting is filed with the work it belongs to, not in a separate archive. Audio is stored on your Mac; the Storage section of the Meeting pane shows the total and offers Delete all recording audio….
